About the event
In its very first year, the Great Geordie Afternoon Chari-Tea brings a sumptuous afternoon tea to Assembly Rooms' historic Ballroom — the very room where Charles Dickens performed in 1852 — as part of NOVUM Newcastle Festival and Assembly Rooms' 250th birthday celebrations.
Created in partnership with Pink Lane Bakery, this inaugural Chari-Tea brings you a beautifully presented spread of sandwiches, scones and sweet treats, with live acoustic entertainment from Newcastle favourite Simma, "Acoustic Hero" of the North East folk scene.
As a special treat, the afternoon coincides with NOVUM's Domino Trail — keep an eye out as a giant domino makes its way straight through the Ballroom during your tea!
